The drawers are easy to open and shut, but I found the textured plastic coatings to be a bit rough on my fingers. The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator is equipped with a all the features you'd expect from a fridge in this price range that includes Wi-Fi as well as app support via GE's SmartHQ software. It is also possible to use this to set a general cooling setting for the whole fridge, but I've noticed that adjusting the general settings tends produce better results than specific ones. During my tests, the temperatures of the refrigerator were fairly constant across the different areas of the refrigerator. Temperatures in the top and bottom of the fridge didn't vary much from 38 degrees, and even the middle of the fridge was within one degree of 36. That's a good performance, but it doesn't quite make it into the top ten in our rankings. This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead.
